Huawei launches new UPS for the Southeast Asia market

May 15, 2018

China’s telecoms equipment company Huawei has launched a new uninterruptible power supply system for large datacenters for the developing e-commerce market in Southeast Asia.

Huawei showcased the FusionPower5000-S UPS at its Asia Pacific ISP Summit 2018 held in Hong Kong.

According to Huawei, the series integrates power distribution and UPS and can reach a maximum capacity of 1,200 kVA per unit.

The UPS features a hot swappable module, small footprint and is easy to install, Huawei said. If a fault occurs, users can undertake “online maintenance, which takesless than five minutes”.

Huawei said the new system is designed to help businesses restructure their operations and infrastructure “and accelerate their digital transformation journey”.

Last March, the Shenzhen-based company won a power supply contract to provide mainly high frequency UPS systems up to 500kVA for China’s two major telecoms companies— China Mobile and China Unicom.
