
Two top state-owned telecom companies, China Mobile and China Unicom, have named their UPS power suppliers for 2018— with Huawei, Vertiv and Shenzhen KSTAR Science and Technology securing most of the deals.
According to government documents, China Unicom plans to spend a total of CNY 238 million ($37.6m) to introduce 2,263 sets of UPS system from seven different suppliers, while China Mobile has chosen four companies to supply high power frequency UPS systems.
Shenzhen-based telecoms equipment company Huawei, which has been chosen by China Mobile five years in a row as power supply partner, will provide mainly high frequency UPS systems up to 500kVA to both of the country’s major telecoms.
Shenzhen KSTAR Science and Technology is going to deliver 2,100 units of UPS modules ranging from 80kVA to 500kVA to China Mobile and deliver its full UPS range to China Unicom.
The fourth UPS supplier chosen by China Mobile is Xiamen Kehua Hengsheng.
Other UPS suppliers selected by China Unicom include the East Group, Xiamen Evada, Sicon Emi, and Delta Greentech (China).
