March 5, 2018

US-headquartered engines and power systems manufacturer Kohler Power Group has launched a line of its KD Series diesel industrial backup generators— including models ranging up to 3250kW for application such as datacentres.

Senior product manager Jim Rummel said the new US Environmental Protection Agency-certified engines “deliver highly efficient, dependable performance and feature a modular design for optimal serviceability”.

“Numerous industries that require an ironclad backup power solution will benefit from these newest models now available within the Kohler KD Series,” Rummel said. “These generators are ideally suited to datacentre, healthcare, telecommunications and water-treatment applications, among others.”

The updated KD1250 and new KD1350 industrial generators are powered by Kohler’s KD36V16— a 16-cylinder engine with 36-litre displacement. The new KD2800, KD3000 and KD3250 generators are powered by the company’s KD83V16— a 16-cylinder engine with 83-litre displacement.
