Portable backup power device launched

March 3, 2018

US-based tech firm Suaoki has launched its “ultimate portable power station” designed to provide off-grid and backup power.

The G500 (pictured) is powerful enough to power small appliances like mini fridges and projectors off the grid and is also “a perfect backup power source” when outages happen, thanks to its 500Wh/137,700mAh battery capacity, Suaoki said.

“Unlike normal power banks on the market which are smaller, less powerful and only suitable for mobile devices, G500 is much more versatile with its USB/AC/DC outlets and mega capacity,” said Suaoki — which started out as an online retailer and now develops products from automotive equipment to power supply units.

The G500 is “actually a substitute for a gasoline generator without the noise, fumes and gasoline”, the company said. “It also can be a solar-generated power solution when combined with an external solar panel.”
