Ametek Powervar, a supplier of power conditioning and UPS solutions, said its Security Plus UPS system has been approved for use with instruments from US-based global mass spectrometry technology firm Sciex.
Illinois-based Powervar, which also has a presence in the UK, Canada, Germany and Mexico, said the Security Plus UPS is a high-frequency, double-conversion intelligent UPS, designed to handle the dynamic loads of analytical instruments. Product sizes range from 2 kVA to 15 kVA.
The UPS “offers Sciex customers power protection for systems with high crest factors and high current inrush peripherals, avoiding oversizing”, Powervar said. “This translates to lower lifetime costs for a higher value power protection investment.”
Security Plus “provides mission-critical, high-quality, conditioned uninterruptible power to Sciex LC-MS mass spectrometers and the complete range of Sciex RUO LC-MS systems” Powervar said.
Sales and marking director Chris Walsh said: “Powervar is excited to partner with Sciex in ensuring its instruments are isolated from the harsh power environment of the lab, and in helping increase availability and reducing service incidents.”
