Funding boost for UPS maker ZincFive

January 22, 2018

US nickel-zinc technology company ZincFive has secured a further $11 million in funding to support its ongoing development of backup power systems.

ZincFive— which also has operations in Shenzhen, China— said the financial shot in the arm from existing shareholders paved the way for an “aggressive expansion” of its business.

The Series B raise takes ZincFive’s total funding since inception to $14m, the company said.

The Oregon-based company manufactures nickel-zinc-batteries, associated battery management systems and ‘UPStealth’ uninterruptible power systems— which it said have been widely adopted by smart transportations systems in the US and in Canada.
