Scotland-based Aggreko has been appointed the “official temporary power supporter” for a major sports event to be held in Glasgow.
Around 60 Aggreko generators will be on hand to supply temporary and continuous power for the 11-day 2018 European Championships being held in the city in August.
Aggreko said its equipment is expected to generate more than 10MVA of power distributed through more than 240 panels and 26km of cable.
Aggreko’s MD for major events services Robert Wells said the company would help “ensure the faultless delivery of power” for the championships. The company also revealed it will support the power needs of Festival 2018, a cultural event running alongside the sports action in Glasgow.
Meanwhile, Aggreko is already on its marks to help contribute to the power needs of next month’s PyeongChang winter Olympics in South Korea and the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games in Queensland in April.
